Three men are considered armed and dangerous following a carjacking on Sunday night in Lakewood Township.

When officers responded to an East Spruce Street home around 10:50 pm, they found what appeared to be blood on the front porch, according to Lakewood Police Captain Gregory Staffordsmith.

One of the responding officers then went over to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus after learning that an unidentified male arrived with an apparent stab wound.

The officers put things together and realized both incidents were related and established crime scenes as they investigated the events that had unfolded.

At the hospital, the 24-year old victim from Lakewood told Police that he arrived at a friends house when three men wearing ski masks forcefully removed him from his 2007 black BMW (with the registration J96-GXJ).

A struggle then ensued where the victim sustained a laceration to the side of his head and two non-life threatening stab wounds to the chest.

The suspects then hopped into the BMW and drove off.

The victim then found his friend who brought him to the hospital.

Two of the suspects are described as approximately 5'5" and chunky, the other, as 5'10'-5'11" and thin.

"At this time the investigation is active and the unknown suspects are considered to be armed and dangerous and the vehicle has not been recovered," Staffordsmith said. "If you should see the vehicle, DO NOT approach it or its occupants. Call 9-1-1 immediately."

Anyone with information regarding the case is urged to contact Lakewood Police Officer Kevin Martin at 732-363-0200 extension 5340.
