A Lakewood Township resident has passed away following a three-car accident on Saturday night around 9:00 pm along Madison Avenue near 9th Street.

Through the preliminary investigation, Lakewood Police Captain Gregory Staffordsmith said officers learned that Matthew Sebolt, 38, of Colts Neck was heading north along Madison Avenue in a 2006 Ford F-350 when he sideswiped a 2010 Honda Accord driven by 34-year old Moshe Mashitz who was trying to turn left onto 9th street at that time.

Sebolt then veered into the southbound lane as a result of the initial collision and hit the driver's side of a 2007 Ford Explorer.

Captain Staffordsmith said the driver of the Explorer fled the scene before police got there and left four passengers behind -- 29-year old Omar Zamorano,  54-year old Aaron Morales,  33-year old Jose Oliver Dominguez Calvo, and 36-year old Oliver Vasquez -- all of whom live in Lakewood.
