A Lakewood man has been arrested for lewd activity that spread to Oklahoma.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced the arrest of Samuel Schwinger, 34, on Friday night.

Schwinger was arrested and charged with Production of Images/Videos of Children Under the Age of Sixteen Engaged in Prohibited Sexual Acts in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:24-4b(4), Distribution of of Images/Videos of Children Under the Age of Sixteen Engaged in Prohibited Sexual Acts in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:24-4b(5) AI and Possession of of Images/Videos of Children Under the Age of Sixteen Engaged in Prohibited Sexual Acts in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C: 24-4b(5) BIII.

On Friday, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, was contacted by the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children’s Task Force regarding an investigation by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Department in Oklahoma.

The parents of a young girl reported to the Pottawatomie Sheriff’s Department that their daughter had been contacted by someone in New Jersey posing as a young girl asking her to send explicit videos of herself.

An investigation by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Department located a phone number and account for the person who contacted the young girl.

Further investigation revealed the phone number and account was registered to Schwinger.

A search warrant was obtained and executed Friday evening at Schwinger’s residence in Lakewood.

Schwinger was also charged with Possession of Marijuana by Lakewood Police.

Schwinger is a Registered Sex Offender currently serving 10 years of probation for a Sexual Assault out of Cook County, New York.

He is currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.
