Lakewood Crash Closes Route 70

A three-car crash on Sunday morning on Route 70 in Lakewood kept the westbound lanes closed for several hours.

The LakewoodScoop.com reports three vehicles collided around 7 a.m. at Airport Road injuring three people including the driver who was ejected by the impact. A driver heading southbound on Route 70 at Airport Road failed to stop at the traffic light and crashed into a vehicle traveling eastbound Traffic & Safety Sergeant Frank Work tells the Scoop.

In an attempt to move his vehicle out of the way, the driver of the southbound vehicle collided with a mini van heading westbound.

One of those injured is critical at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Part of Airport Road was also closed by the accident clean up and investigation.
