A Lakehurst is facing several charges after allegedly pointing a gun at a Toms River woman during an argument Wednesday, striking her in the head, shoving her into walls inside her apartment, blocking her exit and then threatening to kill her before he fled the scene himself.

Jaylin Evans, 20, was found by Toms River Police in a neighboring apartment where he was placed under arrest and brought to the Ocean County Jail.

It's not known what Evans used to strike the victim in the head.

Toms River Police found the loaded 9MM handgun with an extended magazine Evans used to allegedly threaten the victim in a backpack he had in the apartment searched after a consent form was signed by the tenant.

Evans is also responsible for damaging the victims cell phone and TV during the argument.

He is charged with Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, Criminal Mischief, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, False Imprisonment, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Simple Assault, Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine.

The incident remains under investigation.
