Two Middletown men are facing a laundry list of charges including burglary and unlawful possession of a weapon for barging into a residence in Keansburg Wednesday armed with a knife.

21-year old Brandon Soto tried gaining entry to a second residence while being chased before his arrest.

24-year old Kalief Greene tripped and fell while on the run from police before he was placed in handcuffs.

Greene and Soto were arrested and charged with Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of Weapon for Unlawful Purposes.

Police arrived to the Laurel Avenue area around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday for a report of two male subjects, armed with a knife, barging into a residence.

Two Patrolmen then observed two subjects, identified as Greene and Soto, take off on foot down Charles Avenue upon seeing the officers and they ran into a backyard.

One Patrolman pursued the subjects on foot, yelling for them to stop, while the other went to the opposite street to head them off.

With their service weapons drawn, both Patrolmen closed in on Soto as he was attempting to gain entry into another residence.

After being advised several times to get on the ground, police say Soto complied and was arrested.

While one of the Patrolmen was walking back towards Laurel Avenue, he observed Greene run out of a yard.

Three officers pursued Greene who tripped and fell onto the sidewalk before he was apprehended.

A search of the area was conducted and a captain located the knife near the victim's residence.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
