We think all our great Jersey Shore towns are gorgeous and should always be on the top of every positive shore town lists, but there are tons of really great shore towns all over the country that compete with us. So when a Jersey Shore town makes one of these lists, we have to celebrate.

So, when the well respected Love Exploring puts a New Jersey beach town on their "America's Super Seaside Town" list, right there among great beach towns like Siesta Key, Fla. and Bar Harbor, Maine that's great news.

I'm not trying to be picky here. I'm happy with one New Jersey beach town making the list, but I sure do wish Monmouth & Ocean County beach towns would get some love on these lists. We do deserve it.

But despite that, we celebrate the fact that the southernmost beach town in all of New Jersey did make the list. So congratulations to our friends in Cape May. Yes. they made  another list!

And they deserve it, too. Is there a more charming, more quaint and beautiful place that Cape May? It really is a picture perfect place that jumped right out of a movie. And we love it.

But we also love Spring Lake, Avon, Point Beach, and the list goes on and on. i think there was plenty of room on this list to add one or two more, but maybe I'm being a little selfish. But I have to stick up for my beloved Jersey Shore.

Love The Beach?: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
