The first thing you think of when you walk out of the house this morning might not be summer, but the fact of the matter is that a Jersey Shore summer is only 4 months away.

To be exact, the Friday that kicks off Summer 2021 at the Jersey Shore is exactly 4 months from tomorrow. Now, that's not exactly around the corner, but tell the truth. It's closer than you thought, right?

To celebrate, I thought we'd celebrate some of the summer honors bestowed upon local towns by several different websites. Let's remember these towns and all Jersey Shore towns, since the importance of supporting local businesses in these towns now and this summer has never been more important.

Here are a few great examples...

The first five towns listed by Thrillist for "Best Jersey Shore Beach Towns" are Asbury Park, Spring Lake, Point Pleasant Beach, Sandy Hook and Seaside Heights. And they follow up those towns with Ocean Grove, Long Beach Island, Long Branch and Belmar before they get to Ocean City.

When U.S. News & World Report ranked the best beaches in the Garden State, it listed Ocean Grove at #3, Sandy Hook at #5, Seaside Heights in the #7 spot and from #9 to #14 were LBI, Point Pleasant Beach, Belmar, Seaside Park, Lavalette and Spring Lake.

And the Crazy Tourist loves our Jersey Shore as well. The site listed the best beaches in New Jersey, and had Asbury Park at #1, Point Pleasant Beach in the #2 spot, LBI at #3 and Spring Lake at #4 before they even mentioned Cape May (at #5).

We always need a little summer here at the Jersey Shore, and this year it's magnified by about 1000X, so start the countdown Jersey Shore. Here's hoping things get so much better in the next 4 months that we get the summer we deserve...and really need.
