I barely started typing this article and I am already craving a Choco Taco...and a ScrewBall... and a SpongeBob popsicle, that doesn't even look like SpongeBob SquarePants. SUMMER IS HERE, LET'S EAT ICE CREAM!

Now that I got my cravings out of the way, it's time to celebrate and highlight the Peaches & Cream Ice Cream Truck. June 1st will mark 15 years of service! A HUGE congratulations to Wall Township resident and owner Bill Pietsch. Years ago, Pietsch noticed that there were no ice cream trucks in his Wall Twp. neighborhood, so being a full-time teacher at Wall High School, he figured he would try starting his own ice cream truck company during one of his summer vacations. It was a slow start but there was a market for an ice cream truck. Over the years he and his team have been able to build a successful business. Now in 2021, It's safe to say the Peaches & Cream Ice Cream Truck is the Jersey Shore's premier ice cream truck. (KEEP SCROLLING FOR MORE)

Bill Pietsch is all around a great person and you can tell he takes pride in doing what's best for the community. Here are some of his favorite memories from the past 15 years:

The most meaningful and best moments are the smiles we see when we serve kids (and adults) when we are street vending or if we are hired to serve ice cream at their party or social gathering. I do find it cute when a child brings a handful of change or their piggy bank and says “what can I get for this much?” I also appreciate the moments I see when an adult (mom, dad, grandparent) unwraps an ice cream for a child, their sheer excitement is awesome when they dive right in, that moment (the look on their face) is priceless. Also the reaction I see from kids (and some adults) to hearing the ice cream truck music, the happiness it brings makes it worth it! There was one time that a 18 month old child heard the ice cream truck song playing and ran out of the house without any clothes on! Another part of this job that is special that you never would think about is when you get to serving someone when they are young and then they become repeat customers. You end up watching them grow up year to year. I would serve them when they were young at their birthday party and then also serve them at their high school or college graduation party. You see them grow every year, year after year in front of your eyes.

Despite the Pandemic Peaches & Cream Kept rollin’:

When everything shut down last year, we were temporarily forced to change the way we did business. We were allowed to work, but needed to comply with all the safety precautions related to COVID-19. Ice cream trucks naturally attract people and crowds so we had to figure out how to get people the ice cream they wanted without being in close proximity to each other. They say necessity is the mother of all invention…so, we got creative. For the first 2-3 months of our 2020 season, we had customers call or text us their ice cream order, they would prepay digitally, we would bag it up, and deliver it to their doorstep, no contact whatsoever. Everyone was stuck at home and the ice cream truck would show up with their delivery, we would see kids smiling, jumping up and down so excited, and the parents smiling because their kids were happy! These kids would leave me drawings on the doorstep when I dropped off their treats. I even had grandparents from Florida calling me asking me to send ice cream to their grandkids, they would ask to put notes on the packages “love grammie and pop”. It was a special time that I will never forget. Our no contact service was extremely popular! By mid summer we were able to offer both traditional window service and no contact home delivery. I still have the drawings from all those kids!

Once again a huge congratulations to the Peaches & Cream Ice Cream Truck! Wishing the truck another successful 15 years of business. Thank you for bringing smiles to our Jersey Shore neighborhoods.
