Jackson Township Police need your help finding a suspected burglar who allegedly looted a home on Cedar Swamp Road located between West Fish Road and West Pleasant Grove Road Monday and took jewelry, cash and guitars worth about $5,000.00 before fleeing.

The residents returned home to find their house had been ransacked.

An image of the alleged suspect was caught on video surveillance the homeowner has set up that also caught his vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black male with short black hair and a longer beard, wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and pants and light colored gloves.

Police say he's driving a dark colored BMW 4 door SUV.

He knocked on the door around 11:38 am after pulling into the driveway.

After waiting around for a few minutes he left only to return at 11:56 am when he removed the screen of a first floor window and hopped in.

He spent 14-minutes inside the home, police say, before putting the stolen goods in his SUV and driving off.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have knowledge of the suspect's identity is asked to contact Jackson Police Detective Robert Reiff at 732-928-1111.

The public is reminded that any persons arrested or charged with any offenses or crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
