JACKSON — The Jackson Township Police Department is asking for the public's assistance with two burglaries that took place over the weekend.

On Saturday, at 9:36 pm, officers responded to the Lucky 7 Deli on Whitesville Road for the report of an active intruder alarm. The initial officers noticed an unsecured door and evidence of a burglary.

After reviewing security footage, it was discovered that a male subject entered the store multiple times throughout the evening. The man hid inside of a refrigerator while the store was still open. When the store eventually closed, he came out.

The suspect, who is pictured above, is identified as a black male wearing a blue shirt with "Me and Jesus" written on it. He was also wearing blue jeans.

In a separate incident on Sunday, police responded to the Pineland Sporting Goods on West Veterans Highway for a report of an attempted burglary between 2:00 am, and 3:30 am.

When police arrived, the included that an unknown suspect had used a propane torch in an attempt to open the padlock on the front door to gain entry and burglarize the store.

The unidentified suspect failed and was unable to make entry into the store.
