A high school teacher from Ocean County is in trouble with the law after authorities say she had a sexual relationship with a student.
Charges Filed Against NJ Teacher
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office says 37-year-old Jessica Sawicki of Point Pleasant is facing five counts of second-degree sexual assault and five counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Sawicki is an English teacher at Hamilton High School West in Mercer County.
An investigation involving several law enforcement agencies revealed that the alleged criminal conduct by Sawicki began earlier this year.
Authorities say on several occasions, "Sawicki allegedly engaged in sexual acts with the victim at the Assunpink Wildlife Management Area in Upper Freehold Township."
Sawicki was arrested without incident earlier this week and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution where she remains pending an initial court appearance.
Help Investigators
Anyone with information about Sawicki’s activities is being urged to contact Det. David Sidorakis with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office at (800) 533-7443.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
