A woman from Toms River has been sentenced to several years in prison in connection to the death of a man in 2020.

On Friday, 36-year-old Samantha Massimino, who had previously pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge, was sentenced to five years behind bars.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office says during the early morning hours of October 24th, 2020, officers with the Toms River Police Department responded to a home after they received a 9-1-1 call about a man who had been stabbed.

Responding officers found 35-year-old Reinaldo Feliciano, Jr., of Toms River with a stab wound to his leg.

An investigation...revealed that Massimino and Mr. Feliciano - who had previously been in a dating relationship - became involved in a physical altercation at the residence. During the course of the argument, Massimino retrieved a knife and ultimately stabbed Mr. Feliciano in the leg.

Feliciano was taken to a hospital where he later died of his injuries.
