The Atlantic City Fire Department investigation will definitively answer this question … however, multiple well placed sources have confirmed to me that the Wednesday, November 15, 2023 fire near Resorts Casino Atlantic City likely began under the Boardwalk.

Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small must make a priority of the underserved who live underneath the Boardwalk in Atlantic City.

It’s understandable that living outside during the winter season is challenging. It’s also unsafe.

In order to survive, people will do whatever is required, such as building fires under the Boardwalk and using propane tanks for cooking.

Many flammable, even combustible items are presently under various sections of the Boardwalk in Atlantic City.

The Atlantic City Fire Department did a great job and quickly extinguished yesterday’s fire before it could cause even more damage to Resorts Casino Hotel Atlantic City.

Jamie Hoagland, the Director of Advertising and Public Relations said the following about yesterday’s Boardwalk fire as follows:

A fire erupted late this afternoon on the area of the Boardwalk in front of Resorts. The Atlantic City Fire Department quickly responded and immediately extinguished the fire. Evacuation of the building was not required, and no injuries were reported. Resorts Casino Hotel is open for business.

The featured photo above and directly below was taken by Kevin Beyrouty, a professional firefighter from Trenton, New Jersey.

Beyrouty was in Atlantic City because he is attending The New Jersey League of Municipalities, which is being held this week in Atlantic City.

Last year, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office led a compassionate effort to remove those living under several different sections of the Boardwalk.

This approach must be implemented on a regular basis … not to be cruel to the underserved currently living there … it must be done because it is dangerous

There were multiple fires last year that started from under the Boardwalk. Yesterday is likely to be another such fire.

Forecasts appear to be calling for a colder winter this year versus the past several years which have been mild.

This will exacerbate the problem. The time to act is now.
