Raunchy Upper Deerfield, NJ, School Custodian Now Facing Child Porn Charges

A custodian in Cumberland County who has been accused of performing raunchy, unsanitary acts on cafeteria utensils and food, which later was offered to elementary school students, is now in even deeper trouble with the law.

The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office says 25-year-old Giovanni Impellizzari of Vineland, who worked at the Elizabeth Moore School in Upper Deerfield Township for the past four years, has now been charged with second-degree distribution of child pornography and third-degree possession of child pornography.

Authorities were quick to point out that they believe the child porn in question was not manufactured or made by Impellizzari, he allegedly only possessed and distributed it.

Horrifying allegations

Earlier this week, New Jersey state troopers received multiple anonymous tips regarding "alarming posts" made by Impellizzeri on an encrypted text app as outlined in court documents filed in the case.

Some of Impellizzari's alleged activities included spraying bleach into a container of cucumbers that were likely to have been served to children as well as “wiping his anus, penis and testicles, and spitting saliva on kitchen utensils and bread which was likely used to prepare food and served to children.”

Video clips reportedly show Impellizzeri rubbing his genitals on cafeteria utensils and school food, masturbating on pillows and bowls, and contaminating various school items with spit, urine, and feces, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Authorities now say Impellizzeri's alleged actions happened on or about October 26th-30th.

The Upper Deerfield Township School District has been working with the county health department to ensure the entire school cafeteria has been properly sanitized and any food products in question thrown away.

Initial charges

From those allegations, authorities initially charged Impellizzari with third-degree aggravated assault, two counts of third-degree tampering with food products, third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree attempted endangering the welfare of a child.

An additional charge of second-degree official misconduct was later authorized by the Court.

New statement from health officials

The Cumberland County Department of Health released the following statement on Wednesday,

The Cumberland County Department of Health, in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Health, has closely reviewed the lab results of the staff member from the Elizabeth F. Moore School to evaluate any potential health risks to those that consumed food at the school. Based upon all available test results and clinical criteria, we have determined that the individual in question is not likely to pose any health risks. Additional tests are pending, and it is possible, but unlikely, that recommendations may change within the next week, however we wanted to provide the most updated information to date. The health and safety of the school community is a priority and additional information and recommendations will be provided as needed.

Impellizzeri remains held at the Cumberland County Jail. A detention hearing is scheduled for Thursday morning at 9:00, which will be live-streamed via the NJcourts.gov website.
