A Big Retail Comeback in Hamilton Commons

An empty retail spot in Mays Landing that was once home to a discount store will soon be the new home of a discount store.

Ocean State Job Lot has announced that they are moving into the former Big Lots location in the Hamilton Commons Shopping Center on the Black Horse Pike, right between Regal Cinemas and Hobby Lobby.

Ocean State Job Lot Expands in South Jersey

This will be Ocean State Job Lot's eleventh store in New Jersey and second in Atlantic County, with their existing location in Somers Point.

Ocean State Job Lot sells household items, clothing, food, electronics, and accessories and is known for their "crazy deals."

60 New Jobs Coming to the Area

Mark O’Connor, Director of Real Estate for the company, said,

With the recent closings of Christmas Tree Shops and Big Lots, we know there are a lot of people in the area looking for great deals, and we hope they'll come check us out. We're proud to invest in Atlantic County and, with our new Mays Landing store complementing our recently opened Somers Point location, we look forward to having an even bigger presence in the community.

This new store is expected to bring 60 new jobs to the area and their hiring process will be opening soon.

A Look Inside

That new Ocean State Job Lot location has been quite a few stores over the years. Long before COVID, Circuit City moved from the old Shore Mall to that storefront, which later became HH Gregg. When that chain went out of business, Big Lots moved in.
