Here's something that we've pulled out of the South Jersey "WTF!?" file...

This past weekend, a couple of pictures began circulating on Facebook about a large banner that was hanging along a road in the middle of Atlantic County, so I decided to take a look for myself.

And having ventured out that way to see what was going on, I'm even more confused than I was before.

Our travels today take us down Weymouth Road in Hamilton Township, where if you go just a minute or two off of the intersection with the Black Horse Pike, you'll see this banner in someone's front yard...

If you can't make out all of the words, it says, "DANGER EMERGENCY PUBLIC ALERT A KNOWN MASS KILLING CRUSH HAZARD FOUND."

What it lacks is any type of information about what it is in reference to.

But wait, there's more. Under that banner are two more signs:

That one reads (and we'll take the liberty of fixing the misspellings), "To who it may concern only, that was your last chance. You absolutely will be held accountable. No immunity."

And the third sign simply says this...

Again, as to what, exactly, these signs are in reference to is a bit of a mystery. So, did I drive up this person's driveway, knock on their door, and ask them what they're about?

No friggin' way.

Obviously, in this day and age, a banner that mentions "mass killing" has caught the attention of lots of folks on Facebook who have raised some concerns.

Best we can tell — and this is completely unverified based on some social media comments — this person has apparently been putting up banners like this for quite some time and they might be over a beef with a local church and/or its congregation? I'm not entirely sure.

I took those pictures from Weymouth Road and in addition to those signs, the only other thing of note was a rather nice display of American flags in an otherwise very well-kept yard.

And, for whatever reason, this is not the first bizarre thing that I've found along the side of a road in Atlantic County.

A couple of years ago, I found a raised toilet seat that's used by people who need help in the bathroom, not too far from the county courthouse.

In 2021, I found this bizarre note under an Acme shopping cart that was on the side of the Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing...

Years before that, I found someone advertising a room that they had for rent in the most bizarre way possible — a tiny index card stapled to a pole on the Garden State Parkway offramp in such a way that no one would ever see it (except me).

Getting back to the "mass killing crush hazard found" banner, if anyone has any information on this, I'd love to hear from you.
