A man from Brooklyn is facing charges after allegedly stabbing two people with a pocketknife Sunday morning in Atlantic City.

The incident unfolded around 12:30 AM in the 3000 block of Pacific Avenue.

The Atlantic City Police Department says one of their officers arrived at the scene and several people pointed out a suspect who had stabbed two men.

Police say the suspect, 37-year-old Dwayne Lewis, began to run away but was apprehended and taken into custody.

Lewis and two men were involved in an altercation when Lewis used a pocket knife to stab both.

The victims were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Lewis was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and resisting arrest.

He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
