When the New Jersey Turnpike Authority announced tool increases for the fifth straight year on the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike last Tuesday, there was a feeling of waiting for the other shoe drop and bringing an increase on the Atlantic City Expressway, too.

That shoe dropped a day later when the South Jersey Transportation Authority approved a 3% raise on ACY tolls effective January 1, 2025.

The increase is the fourth toll hike in four years on the Expressway.

SJTA's 2025 Budget

The South Jersey Transportation Authority, which runs the Atlantic City Expressway and Atlantic City International Airport, approved a 3 % increase on the Expressway as it revealed that its overall budget will increase from $154.8 million in 2024 to $211.2 million in 2025.

Motorists driving from the 42 Freeway in Turnersville to Atlantic City will spend more than $12 for the round trip beginning January 1st.

Remember when the Mays Landing toll used to be referred to as the "dollar toll"?
