A South Jersey contestant will be a part of the upcoming Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions.

After his six-game winning streak on Jeopardy! and winning $100,202, Josh Weikert will try his luck in the 2026 Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions.

A Little Background on Josh Weikhart

Weikert, who owns a home in Stone Harbor, is a professor at Immaculata University and an Army Reserve officer. He and his wife, Barbara, also have a home in Collegeville, PA.

He earned over $100,000 during a six-night win streak on the quiz show in March 2025, 10% of which --  nearly $12,000 -- he donated to The Weikel Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Established in memory of Joshua Weikert's friend and US Marine Corp Veteran,  Jarrad Weikel.

Weikert tells the story of taking the show's online test for over a decade before finally hearing back from someone from Jeopardy! Several months later, he was notified that he had made the cut as a contestant and flew to Sony Studios in California to film the show.

The Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions kicks off on Monday, January 19th. Josh Wiekert's quarterfinal show is scheduled to air on Friday, January 23rd.

A Previous South Jersey Contestant on Jeopardy! ToC

If you are a fan of the show, you'll remember the excitement that Ocean City's Cris Punnullo created in 2022 on Jeopardy!

Pannullo, a customer success operations manager and former poker player, won 21 straight games for the sixth-longest streak overall and earned an amazing $748,286!

Pannullo earned his way onto the Tournament of Champions, but had to wait a year, when the 2023 Tournament of Champions was canceled because of the WGA writers' strike.

When Panullo finally appeared on the 2024 ToC, he was eliminated in the quarterfinal round by Jared Watson and Ben Goldstein in a major upset, ending his impressive run.
