Joe Pops Shore Bar and Restaurant, a fixture in Ship Bottom is for sale. The property is listed for $3.9 million.

The legendary Long Beach Island party spot has been around so long that there's a difference of opinion about how long Joe Pops has been there.

The real estate ad says the present Joe Pops building was built in 1950, but, as close as we can figure, the business goes back to the 1930s.

In a Facebook post, the latest owners of Joe Pops explained that they planned on being behind-the-scenes only, but found themselves running the business over the past four years and are ready to step away from that commitment.

They are promising to keep the business open until it is sold, and say that, so far, they haven't had any offers.

So the party will go on at Joe Pops, with a restaurant, outdoor tiki bar beach yard, and famous live music venue all be part of the fun this summer.

If you know us even a tiny bit, you know how difficult this decision is for us.

Please no negative comments. Having said all of this, let's have an amazing spring/summer season!

We will have awesome events/music as usual and will continue to be at Joe Pops as much as we normally are giving the same love and attention we always do.
