Do you ever wonder if your smart speaker is a little too smart for its own good?

You may have good reason to feel that way.  New research may have you thinking twice about which gadgets you keep in your home.

Four Devices That Could be Spying On You

According to MSN.com, experts from Which? Research warn that these four smart gadgets could be spying on you.

Their findings reveal that your smart speaker, smart TV, smartwatch and air fryer can listen in to your conversations and even send your data back to China.

Smart Speakers

Seeing that smart speakers could be spying on us makes me feel a little less paranoid about unplugging the damn thing when we gossip about the neighbors.

Which? tested three smart speakers and found that the Bose Portable Home Speaker was "stuffed" with trackers.

The Bose speaker also scored poorly on how it secured consent for data tracking.

Does that mean they just didn't ask? I don't remember ever saying yes.

Smart TV's

The analysis from Which? on smart TVs found the TV menus are "thirsty" for user data.

Some spy in China is probably laughing at all the time I've invested in watching 19 seasons of Suits.

Smartwatches

As for smartwatches, one watch -- the $600 Huawei Watch Buds Smartwatch -- was found to request nine "risky" phone permissions including your exact location, the ability to record audio, access to your stored files, and the ability to see all the other apps installed.

Well, it is a smartwatch. That's kind of why you are wearing it.

Air Fryers

I had no problem believing that the first three "smart" devices -- the smart speaker, smartwatch, and smart TV --  could be listening in and storing data about us, but the fourth gadget caught me completely unaware.

The air fryer. Really, my air fryer is spying on me?

Is it sending information back to China about my air-fried chicken wings? They could have just asked me for the recipe.

Where To Find Out More

I would suggest reading the MSN article, 'The Gadgets That Are Spying on You and Sending Your Data to China' for exact product information and good suggestions for protecting yourself from them.

Aren't you glad you plunked down a couple thousand dollars on all these spying devices?
