What Are these weird Stones Washing Up in New Jersey?
It's a mystery. What are these stone? Several beach clean-ups begin this weekend here at the Jersey Shore. Thanks to the Clean Ocean Action, a volunteer group that has lead the beach clean-ups for years along our beautiful shore line.
We already know some of the weird things they find along their clean-ups on our beaches. All kinds of stuff show up on our beaches.

Hundreds of New Jerseyans will be out in full force this weekend helping clean up our beaches. It's just amazing seeing everyone work together to make our beaches beautiful after a rough, wet winter.
What are the mystery stones washing up on the Jersey Shore?
These little things are a little weird, but the float?
From Clean Ocean Act Facebook Page: "After investigating further, COA's staff found thousands — possibly hundreds of thousands — of these pumice-like, lightweight, gray, porous stones washed up from Pier Village to the entrance of Sandy Hook. They’re all similar in size, a few pieces can easily fit in the palm of a hand, and they float! Some pieces appear smoothed or shaped, with faint grid-like marks suggesting they may be manmade."
School groups, different sports teams come together, boy scout and girl scout groups, kids and families all working together. If you've never helped with beach clean-ups, maybe this year. Click here to register.
