A three car motor vehicle collision where six people were sent to area hospitals remains under investigation in Toms River.
Police said that they learned that Elvis Guadulupe Dominguez Avila was driving southbound on Route 9 near Hecht Drive when he lost control of his vehicle around 7:40 pm on Sunday night.
The loss of control led to Avila crashing into an oncoming vehicle and it forced that driver off the road and their vehicle into a driveway exit where it struck another vehicle.
From the three vehicles, six people were brought to area hospitals including Monmouth Medical South, Community Medical Center and three to Jersey Shore Medical University for undisclosed injuries.
Toms River Police said they were assisted at the scene by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Ocean County Sheriff CSI, and the State Diversion team.
Any charges are pending at this time, police said, as the investigation continues today.
