Super Bowl Sunday is the national holiday that does not come with a day off although more than 17 million people will miss work on Monday, some taking the day off while others will call in sick.  Whether they come into the office or work from home many will turn their computer on late or bail on the day early as it’s said that distractions and absences will cost employers about $4 billion.  Super Bowl LIX (that's 59) matches the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles with Sunday’s game kicking off at 6:30pm from Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

I am well aware that there are many Eagles fans in the shore area and plenty who root for the Chiefs, especially since they have built a dynasty and are seeking a Super Bowl era record 3 Vince Lombardi trophies.  For me this is the most uninterested I have ever been for the “big game” because when the playoffs started a month ago the one matchup I did not want was this one.  Personally I am suffering from Chiefs fatigue and I never…and I mean never root for any team that calls Philadelphia home.  By the way you likely know this is a repeat of the 2023 Super Bowl which KC won 38-35 on a field goal with just 8 seconds remaining.

House parties will once again feature favorites like chicken wings, pizza, nachos, pigs in a blanket, subs, chips and more.  It will be washed down with over 50 million cases of beer and many will start the next day with a package of Rolaids.

I’ll eat my fair share of “bad food” at halftime because I could care less about the so-called entertainment…I’d rather watch a college marching band.

As for the game itself.  The Eagles are dominant on both lines of scrimmage and that will be the difference.  Philly wins 23-20 and Jalen Hurts walks away with the MVP award and I’ll be sick because I don't have 3-0 in a box pool.

Enjoy the game!
