I am clearly on an A.I., ChatGPT, kick lately.

Yesterday, I asked ChatGPT what the best things about the Jersey Shore are.

I wasn't shocked that some of the things mentioned by A.I. were the beach, nature, and historic sites.

Today I decided to ask ChatGPT, "What would you do if you had one day to spend at the Jersey Shore? Which towns would you visit?"

I wanted to see what those bots really thought of the Jersey Shore.

What are the best things we have to offer?

ChatGPT was pretty diplomatic with its response because many of our favorite towns were mentioned.

Stop 1: Asbury Park

ChatGPT suggests you start your morning in Asbury at either Toast or Frank's Deli for some breakfast.

I was shocked by how specific the answer was with mentioning some local businesses.

According to ChatGPT, you should also get some rays and lay on the beach for a bit.

I should stress, "a bit" because your day is jam-packed.

Stop 2: Ocean Grove

Luckily, your next stop isn't too far because you will go on quite a long drive later in the day.

Take a stroll through Ocean Grove is the next thing you should do with your day according to ChatGPT before grabbing lunch at SeaGrass Restaurant or Nagle's Apothecary Cafe.

We have already arrived at some faulty tech, which is why you cannot trust A.I.

Nagle's has been closed since 2019, so I guess that means lunch is at SeaGrass.

Stop 3: Point Pleasant Beach

This is the first longer drive to get to your afternoon spot. Point Beach is just about 30 minutes south of Ocean Grove.

ChatGPT suggests spending time on the boardwalk, going to the aquarium, playing some games, and going on some rides.

I spent many summer days doing just that as a kid in Point Beach, so I agree.

If you have some extra time and want some more sun, you can also hit the beach for a little bit before moving on to your last stop of the day.

Stop 4: Cape May

See what I meant about a lot of driving during your day trip? You'll be driving almost two hours to get from Point to Cape May.

This stop may also cost you a pretty penny...

ChatGPT says to take a walk to see all of the Victorian homes, maybe visit the Cape May lighthouse, grab dinner at either The Lobster House or The Ebbitt Room, and end the day at Sunset Beach to relax while watching the sunset.

The Ebbitt Room is definitely on the more expensive side, but as someone who has been there in the past, I can say it is worth it.

Is this trip even feasible with the given timeline?

The sun sets at 8:25 PM this time of the year (mid-July) so you would want to be at the beach around 8:00/8:15 PM.

You would want to go to dinner around 6:00 PM so you have plenty of time to eat and drive to the beach.

If you want to climb up the lighthouse, it will take you about an hour or less.

Getting to Cape May around 4:00 PM should give you enough time to do everything in Cape May, including drive time.

If you want to arrive in Cape May no later than 4, you want to leave Point by 2 PM.

In order to spend around 2 - 2 1/2 hours in Point you would need to be in Point by 11:45 AM.

Now this is where your timeline is pretty much ruined because ChatGPT wants you to grab lunch in Ocean Grove. However, you would have to leave Ocean Grove by 11:15 AM, which means you're eating lunch around 10:00 AM...

10:00 AM is breakfast time to me.

Sorry, ChatGPT...try better next time.
