Grocery Store Update: Cucumber Recall In New Jersey Due To Salmonella

Tonight, news is breaking of a recall that has affected cucumbers in 26 states around the nation. If you love cucumbers and usually pick them up at your local grocery store, be sure to check what you have in the fridge.
According to a report from Patch, the Food and Drug Administration announced this week that these particular cucumbers (sold in 26 states) may be contaminated with Salmonella.
According to Patch, "The cucumbers, produced by Arizona-based SunFed Produce, are packaged in bulk cardboard containers labeled with the “SunFed” label or in a generic white box or black plastic crate with a sticker that provides the implicated grower’s name, “Agrotato, S.A. de C.V. The recalled cucumbers were sold between October 12th and November 26th."
These cucumbers were sold in New Jersey and these 25 other states: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
According to the Patch report, "More information is available by contacting SunFed’s recall hotline at (888) 542-5849."
Some of the symptoms of salmonella can include vomiting, fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and nausea. Any concerns, consult your physician immediately.
According to Statista "Americans consume about 8.2 pounds of fresh cucumbers per person each year. In addition, Americans also consume an average of 9–11 pounds of pickled cucumbers per person annually."
