Manchester resident suffers internal injuries after deer runs into motorcycle

The driver was ejected from his bike which slid a few hundred feet

Investigation into the deer-motorcycle crash in Manchester ongoing

A Manchester resident was treated for internal injuries at a local hospital after deer ran into his motorcycle on Route 539 near Harry Wright Boulevard on Thursday night around 7:41 pm.

Manchester Police said that 18-year old Jose Vergara Suarez of Manchester was driving his 2021 Suzuki GSXR 750 north on Route 539 when a deer coming from the west went into the road and collided with the motorcycle.

As a result of the deer running into the motorcycle, Suarez was ejected from the bike which ended up sliding up the road a few hundred feet and into a traffic sign before clanging off of a utility pole.

Police said that Suarez, who was wearing a DOT helmet, was medevacked to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment for internal injuries.

He was later discharged, while the deer were found dead.

Police said that the crash remains under investigation.
