A Grandfather’s Love For Hallmark Movies Warms The Season
Let me apologize for alluding to Christmas before even Halloween but I have my reason which I will explain shortly. While I do love Christmas I am certainly not over the top and I’ve always been one who enjoys the season more than just the holiday. While it may be a bit earlier then I prefer Friday night marks the return of one of my favorite traditions leading up to the holiday season.
I can’t explain why a 69-year old grandfather would enjoy this so much as I’m sure my friends would and do laugh at me when they learn that on many evenings I will not watch sports in favor of movies and not the ones they would expect. So what the heck and I’m talking about?
COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS begins tonight on the Hallmark channel with some 28 new movies and shows to make their debut along with many favorites from past years. Among the new titles are “A Royal Montana Christmas,” “A Christmas Angel Match,” and “Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story.” It all begins tonight with parts 1 and 2 of “Mistletoe Murders.”
By now you might be laughing at me and I certainly understand…even my wife does. I think my fandom is all about the simplicity of these movies in these times of moral decay. The theme is usually the same with all of them and there is always a happy ending. Hallmark Christmas movies are far away from the usual doom and gloom of watching and reading the news and will get you really into the holiday spirit even if you can pick up the fact that the movies might have been filmed is 60 degree weather.
Again I really don’t have a full explanation of why I like these movies but I will not apologize either. Remember, “Different strokes for different folks.” Enjoy the new season…I know I will.
