But here’s something you might not know: chicken Parmesan isn’t actually an old Italian recipe. It’s more of an Italian-American creation.

The dish was inspired by eggplant Parmesan, a popular Italian dish made with breaded eggplant, tomato sauce, and cheese. Italian immigrants brought those cooking traditions to America, and somewhere along the way, chicken became the star.

Over the years, chicken Parmesan became a favorite in Italian-American restaurants and homes across the country.

And honestly, it’s easy to see why. Take a piece of crispy chicken, add some good tomato sauce, cover it with melted cheese, and bake it until everything comes together.

Simple, filling, and really good.

It’s one of those meals that has been around for generations and still feels just as familiar today.

I came across this post from Dune Ortley Beach, and now I need to go to this Jersey Shore restaurant and have it for myself.

Dune Ortley Beach is located at 1859 Route 35, Ortley Beach, NJ 08751

According to their website, "Our menu celebrates the finest seafood, pristine crudos, oysters, and caviar alongside elevated interpretations of timeless Italian classics and beloved American favorites, from handcrafted pastas to our signature chicken parm, finished tableside to perfection."

Keep an eye out for my video when I go to Dune Ortley Beach and have my chicken parm, and yes, with the "slide" definitely getting the full treatment at Dune. See you there.
