An arrest has been made and charges filed against a Manchester Township man who allegedly stabbed a woman along Cherry Quay Road in Brick Township on Thursday evening.

Brick Township Police announced Thursday night that they were investigating a stabbing incident along Cherry Quay Road.

It wasn't long after that that the man responsible was arrested.

A Brick Police Officer was doing a routine check of the area around 5:30 pm on Thursday when he saw a vehicle with two flat tires in a parking lot, and, upon further on-scene investigation, he found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds lying on the ground, according to a joint release by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Brick Police Chief James Riccio.

She was brought to the hospital and is reported to be in critical but stable condition.

As the investigation run by the OCPO-Major Crimes Unit, Brick Police, and the Ocean County Sheriff's Office-CSI Unit moved along, Harry Bray, Jr., 35, of Manchester, was identified as the suspect, arrested without incident in Manchester, and then charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

Bray has since been brought to the Ocean County Jail, where he remains pending a detention hearing.
