Is It Time For Ocean County To Start Demolishing Area Eyesores?
Before you say this is a crazy question/topic, just jump in your car and take a ride down Route 9 from Lakewood to Little Egg Harbor, and you will see just what I'm talking about. Buildings that are empty and unattended, homes, gas stations, and buildings that are rundown and falling apart. It just looks terrible.

It just seems we have more empty and abandoned real estate around Ocean County than ever before. Empty strip malls, dead gas stations, and decaying homes. Do we need to start cleaning these sites up? I'd rather see trees and grass than old eyesores.
Is It Time For A Cleanup Around Ocean County?
New Jersey does have laws and regulations that require property owners to maintain and clean up their property, but there’s no single statewide law that uses that exact wording. Personally, I have to wonder how hard this is being enforced when you see the eyesores around the county.
Don't get me wrong, I know that people who own properties have the right to do what they want, but in extreme cases, is it too much to ask to keep the lots clean?
Two of the biggest eyesores around the county, in my humble opinion, are the dead gas stations and the empty strip malls. If these two examples were demolished and cleaned up, it would make a huge difference around the county.
