There are certain restaurants at the Jersey Shore that become more than just places to grab dinner. They become destinations. You know the kind. You start talking about going there days ahead of time, you already know what you’re ordering, and somehow dinner turns into an entire night out.

One popular Shore restaurant has definitely earned that reputation, and now it’s getting ready to bring the experience to another part of New Jersey.

Sadly, I write a lot about local eateries closing down. The restaurant business is brutal, and the odds of success are low. That's why, when I hear about a restaurant expanding, I like to spread the word as quickly as possible.

Sinners Steakhouse in Pt. Pleasant Beach started grilling in April 2022, and it quickly earned a strong reputation in the community. It's an upscale steakhouse that knows how to have fun. From their annual Christmas transformation to Valentine’s Day celebrations, Oktoberfest, and other themed events, Sinner's knows how to have a good time.

A Jersey Shore Favorite Is Heading North

It's about time that another part of the state gets the Sinners experience. NJ.com reports that the owners are opening a second Sinner's in Kenilworth, conveniently located right off the Garden State Parkway. The official opening is scheduled for September 29, though you can check it out a few days early. Doors open to the public September 26 with no reservations required.

Sinners Steakhouse Goes Big in Kenilworth

The Kenilworth menu will be familiar to Sinners regulars. Expect favorites including tomahawk and cowboy steaks, scallop and mushroom risotto, and lobster gnocchi. Personally, lobster gnocchi is the kind of menu item that makes me stop pretending I’m going to “eat light tonight.”

The new restaurant has been completely renovated with a speakeasy-inspired look featuring brass and glass accents and a massive 15-foot chandelier.

There’s also an upstairs private event space for about 110 guests with its own bar and kitchen, making it an option for showers, rehearsal dinners and other celebrations.

One thing I like about the concept is that they’re not trying to create one of those steakhouses where you feel like you need to whisper throughout dinner. The owners say that despite the upscale label, they want the restaurant to be accessible to everyone.

The Kenilworth location will operate Tuesday through Friday beginning at 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday beginning at noon.

For fans of the Point Pleasant Beach location, this is a pretty big expansion. For North Jersey diners, get ready. Sinners is coming your way.
