America’s Unlikely ‘Favorite Grocery Store’ Has 367 Locations in New Jersey
What makes your 'favorite' grocery store so great?
Is it ease of shopping, friendly staff, or even selection?

Let's face it: it's all about one thing these days. Price.
Sure, it's pleasant when the overall shopping experience is positive, but when we are paying over fifty bucks in the ten items or less line, it comes down to priorities.
YouGov, a market research and analytics firm, spoke with over 1,200 Americas from October through December 2024.
They asked folks which "grocery store" they love most. Remember the words "grocery store." We'll come back to that in a minute.
There are a few factors to keep in mind.
First, there's the "fame rating." This measured how many people surveyed had heard of these stores.
The popularity ranking is pretty self-explanatory, but it factored in negative feedback.
Let's count down the top five grocery stores to set the tone.
#5 - Kroeger
Here's a grocery store that many wish was in New Jersey.
Kroeger operates over 2,700 stores in the South, Midwest, and West.
I like Kroeger because of its huge selection and private brand.
Just like Shoprite has Bowl & Basket, Kroeger has Simple Truth.
Most store-brand items I've tried from Kroeger have been delicious.
#4 Aldi
It's challenging to beat Aldi's prices.
Sure, they don't have all the brand-name items you may want, but their private label saves you money, which is essential nowadays.
#3 - Whole Foods Market
You'll definitely pay more at checkout for most items at Whole Foods Market, but you'll get quality.
When it comes to natural and organic products and the largest selection of specialty items for all diets, Whole Foods Market is king.
Only local markets have them beat.

#2 - Trader Joe's
I've never been able to do all of my shopping at Trader Joe's.
I'm a massive fan of the store, especially for fun and creative foods you can't find anywhere else.
What would we do without cookie butter and "Everything But The Bagel" seasoning?
Before we get to number one, I'm issuing a trigger warning.
#1 - 7-Eleven
I know. I was as surprised as you by this one.
I agree. 7-Eleven is not a grocery store, and if we count "road-trip" stops, how is Wawa not among the top five?
The chain had a 97% on the "fame" scale, a 65% popularity rating, and only 8% of people "disliked" 7-Eleven.
Other local grocery stores with high scores include Amazon Fresh (14), Wegmans (21), Shoprite (22), A&P (27), and Stop & Shop (28).
