If you have spent any amount of time in the Garden State, you know that we must be among the states that are considered to have the best food in the nation. If not, something is seriously wrong.

The only question is just how high we get on this list, put together by the fine folks at Far & Wide. In my opinion, we have to be top 5 and we almost certainly are top 10.

Let's see if my prediction carries any weight at all. If you just consider the Italian restaurants alone in the Garden State, I should be right on the mark.

The top 5 are (from 5 to 1) Illinois, Texas, Louisiana, and New York, and coming in at the #1 spot is California. That's a great list, but we have to say we are disappointed not to see New Jersey there.

So, where exactly does New Jersey rank when it comes to states with the best food? We'll have to settle for the #8 spot on the list. It's a relief to know we did, in fact, make the top 10.
