What's Next For The Old McDonald's In Ortley Beach, NJ?

It closed back in 2020, but was a really convenient option for a quick bite when you were headed home from a beach day. The building has sat vacant since then, collecting dust, and leaving locals asking, "What's next"?

It's not like it's in a bad location; it's prime real estate off a busy section of 35, and shares a parking lot with the only food store on the island. The place is always packed. So you'd think after 6 years, someone would want to put something there, right?

According To Facebook Rumors, Dunkin' Donuts Is Coming To Ortley?

This is where Facebook Groups come in handy. I'm part of the Seaside Heghts/Park/Ortley/Lavallette group, and it's a great way to stay up to date on what's happening on the island, as well as follow any rumors that may be swirling around.

According to a post from a local on that page, Dunkin' Donuts is going to replace the former McDonald's sometime in the near future. Now, I'd like to reiterate that this is just a rumor, but if a Dunkin' were to open, how would you feel about that?

What Locals Would Like To See Replace The Old McDonald's In Ortley Beach, NJ

The comment section was mixed; some people mentioned there are already so many Dunkins in the area, we don't need another one. Someone else commented that the building should just be torn down, and grass and trees should be planted. Someone else mentioned that a White Castle there would be great too.

I'd like to see something there as well, maybe not a Dunkin' Donuts, but maybe a little Italian Market or something like that would be cool. What would you want to see open up in the former McDonald's in Ortley?
