NJ Fall Foliage 2026: When Leaves Will Peak Near The Jersey Shore
There's one thing I really can't stand about summer at the shore, and that is that eventually it draws to an end. We already feel the days getting shorter, the nights getting cooler, and we can feel the creep of Fall as school gets ready to return to session in Jersey.
Fall Foliage Near The Jersey Shore Is Beautiful

There is, however, one thing about the end of summer that I do love, and that's the changing of the leaves. Fall foliage in Jersey is breathtaking, and I think that's especially true near the shore, where you can see the changes happen along the coast. It's really cool.
When Does Fall Officially Begin in 2026?
The official start of fall this year is September 22nd at exactly 8:04 PM; however, we could start to see the signs of Fall much sooner than that.
According to NJ.com, in the US, states could start seeing leaves change color as early as September 8th, but that's mainly for Northern states, not so much New Jersey.

When Will New Jersey See Its Leaves Change Colors In 2026?
In Jersey, our peak fall foliage season is somewhere between September 29th and October 19th. This is when we'll see those rich autumn colors take over the trees, and it'll be great for some leaf peepin' down the Parkway, and then we'll see another change.
When Do We Set Our Clocks Back An Hour For 2026?
We'll set our clocks back an hour. This happens Sunday, November 1st, at 2 AM, so we get an extra hour to party on Halloween this year. That change will happen unless the Sunshine Protection Act passes, which would allow states to stay in Daylight Saving Time, rather than having to change clocks twice a year.
