Southern 21, Toms River North 1

Senior attackman Hayden Lucas scored five goals and added two assists, junior attackman Konnor Forlai also scored five times, and senior Tyler Murawski tallied four goals and one assist as the Rams opened the season with an emphatic victory over the Mariners.

Sophomore Liam Griffin totaled three goals and two assists and senior midfielder Joey DeYoung sank two goals and two assists. Sophomores Billy Barry and Joe Kessler added one goal apiece and sophomore Colin Markowski won 21 of 25 at the face-off X. AJ Mattern and Nick Roesch each made three saves.

Sophomore midfielder Ben Misa scored once and senior goalie Evan Singer made 14 saves for Toms River North.

 

Nondivisional

Wall 16, Red Bank Catholic 5

Senior attackman John McCurry delivered five goals and five assists and junior goalie Lucas Seelinger made 12 saves to lead the Crimson Knights (1-0) past the Caseys (0-1).

Junior attackman Jack Meyer added three goals and two assists, junior midfielder Will Madden had two goals and one assist, and senior midfielder Pat Donohue and junior midfielder Shea Brennan each scored twice. Senior midfielder Connor Moore and sophomore FOGO Michael Hoarle each scored once.

Sam Fertal scored twice, Peter Villare and Jackson Lu had a goal and an assist each, and Torin Harmon scored once for RBC. Christian Schraeder made 18 saves.

 

Lacey 14, Central 4

Corey Smith tallied five goals and four assists and Braedyn Gialanella posted five goals and two assists to send the Lions past the rival Golden Eagles to give head coach Anthony Allocca his first career victory.

Diego Wolf added a goal and four assists while Evan Keller, David Wilson, and Chris Grassadonio had one goal each. Chad Moore made five saves.

Jake Agugliaro had a hat trick and Angelo Guadagno had a goal and an assist for Central. Jahaziel Garcia had two assists and Brady Etzkorn made 12 saves.

 

Ocean 6. Marlboro 3

Ben Girard led the way with two goals and one assist while Ryan Smyth had a goal and an assist and Vincent Stolowski scored once as the Spartans topped the Mustangs.

 

Barnegat 12, Brick Memorial 4

Senior attackman/midfielder Seth Freiwald deposited four goals with one assist and sophomore midfielder Luke Tortorici had a goal and six assists to power the Bengals to a victory over the Mustangs and give head coach Will Brasil his first career win.

Tied 2-2 at halftime, Barnegat erupted for six straight goals in the third quarter and added four more in the fourth to blow the game open. Sophomore Jakob Jason scored three goals with one assist, senior midfielder Robert Sawicki had two goals and one assist, freshman Keegan Dunn had a goal and three assists, and sophomore Bailey Carroll scored once. Senior goalie Lucas Holland made six saves.

For Brick Memorial, freshman Jack D'Eufemia scored three goals, senior middie Matt Cohrs scored once, senior FOGO Christian Valanzola went 13-for-19 on face-offs, and sophomore goalie Matt Hillin made 14 saves.

 

Holmdel 11, Howell 3

Junior midfielder Gary Colliyer scored four times and freshman midfielder Jack Cannon had two goals and two assists to power the Hornets to a win over the Rebels.

Finnegan Buchan also scored twice while Will Gilfillan had a goal and two assists and Kyle Kapcsos dished out three assists. Matt Tempone and Dylan Lagana each scored once and Andrew Arredondo made 11 saves.

Jon Peal Pepe, Nate Lorenzo, and Vincent Meehan each scored once and Jack Marich had two assists for Howell. Brendan Breschard made 11 saves.

 

Point Boro 18, Long Branch 1

Sophomore attackman Brady Kirk totaled five goals and five assists and senior attackman/midfielder Brian Ostrander scored twice and dished out four assists to send the Panthers to a victory over the Green Wave.

Spencer Knapp scored three times, Greyton Ritter had two goals and one assist, and Brayden Girkesh and Robert Trapanese had a goal and an assist each. Joe Pillsbury, Tommy Morris, Calvin Videon-Perino, and Andrew Michigan each scored once. Morris also went 15-for-17 on face-offs.

 

Donovan Catholic 9, Toms River South 6

Junior attackman Jack Falekas scored four times while junior midfielder Andrew Baltus and sophomore midfielder Teague Hibbard had two goals and two assists each to send the Griffins to a night victory over the Indians.

Baltus also won 10 of 18 at the face-off X and Hibbard picked up 10 ground balls. Peyton Calvetto tallied a goal and an assist and Dom Rocco Ciniglio made six saves.

Cal Carvaez scored twice, assisted on another goal, and picked up seven ground balls to lead the way for Toms River South. Nicholas Romaine had a goal and two assists, Brady Derome, Ben Hartzfeld, and Nolen Mahoney each scored once, and Nicholas Mueller made five saves.

Rumson-Fair Haven 13, Haddonfield 3

Senior Cole Cashion fired in seven goals and assisted on another and senior goalie Will Setteducate made nine saves to propel the Bulldogs to a victory over Haddonfield.

Grayson Goldin and Vincent Raphalian added two goals and one assist each, Andy Croddick had a goal and an assist, and Zach Iwan scored once.

 

Red Bank 8, Old Bridge 5

Senior Trey Lynch delivered two goals and three assists and senior Henry Spencer scored twice to send the Bucs to a road victory over the Knights.

Ryder Villani notched a goal and an assist while Andrew Pape, Gabe Pape and Jack Tavares each scored once. Gavin Lisko made 11 saves.

 

Sayreville 10, Brick 3

 

Nottingham 14, Neptune 1

Jaydon Destouche scored once and picked up six ground balls for the Scarlet Fliers. Brendan Mansfield collected nine ground balls, Laens Bastain made seven saves, and Daniel Laughlin made five saves.
