(5) Old Bridge 3, (12) Manalapan 2
Senior Anthony Sarkisov and junior A.J. DeRosa both scored in the second half to cut a three-goal deficit down to one, but Manalapan's comeback effort came up short as the Knights eliminated the Braves (7-7-1) to advance to the sectional quarterfinals.
Sarkisov got Manalapan on the board in the 59th minute off a pass from junior Tyler Pylarinos and DeRosa headed in a throw-in from sophomore Dylan Cassidy in the 68th.
(3) Freehold Twp. 3, (14) West Windsor-Plainsboro South 2 (OT)
Senior Tim Bertscha drilled a 30-yard strike in the first minute of the second overtime period and the Patriots (11-6) survived a first-round scare against the Pirates to earn a quarterfinal home match Monday vs. No. 6 Marlboro.
Bertscha also had a hand in the first Freehold Township goal, which was a free kick by Bertscha finished off by junior Victor Torres to put the Patriots up, 1-0, in the 10th minute.
Junior Alessandro Principato added to the lead early in the second half off a feed from senior Noah Jones, but West Windsor South came right back with its first goal and equalized just after the midway point of the second half.
(6) Marlboro 4, (11) Jackson Memorial 0
Junior Cade Jacobs assisted a goal by sophomore Jake Langella five minutes into the match, then put the game away with a goal of his own in the 47th minute as the Mustangs (8-3-4) rolled to a win over the Jaguars (9-8-2).
Junior Wyatt Oechsner tacked on a third goal in the 61st minute and junior Ryan Cohen knocked in a free kick from 20 yards out to cap the scoring in the 79th.
Marlboro moves on to play at No. 3 Freehold Township in Monday's sectional quarterfinal round -- a rematch of a 2-0 win by Freehold Township during Class A North divisional play.
(7) Long Branch 1, (10) East Brunswick 0 (OT)
Junior Chris Lopez scored the golden goal off a pass from classmate Anthony Hernandez and the Green Wave (9-4-3) outlasted the Bears to advance to the sectional semifinals on Monday.

Sophomore Nick Turturro scored two goals in the first half and senior Nick Spisak posted a goal and an assist as the Rebels (12-3-2) rebounded from their Shore Conference Tournament final defeat against CBA on Saturday to beat the Tigers Thursday in their NJSIAA Tournament opener.
Central Jersey Group III
(14) Matawan 4, (3) Colts Neck 2
Nico Skeete scored to break a 2-2 tie in the 25th minute and tacked on a second goal in the 35th as the Huskies (6-8-1) erupted for four goals in the first half that powered them to an upset win over the Cougars (9-5-1).
Senior Jairo Chira scored both Colts Neck goals, including a goal off a pass from sophomore Kyle Moore to tie the game at 2-2 24:12 into the match. Just 44 seconds later, however, Skeete was played free on a breakaway by Aaron Kalish and he finished for a 3-2 Matawan lead.
Five minutes before halftime, Skeete knocked in a rebound after an initial shot by Alejandro Cortez, who also scored Matawan's first goal five minutes into play.
Chiro provided an answer for Cortez's icebreaking goal before Evan Arendt struck for Matawan, giving the Huskies a 2-1 lead in the 15th minute.
Matawan senior goalkeeper Jared McMeans also did his part by saving a penalty kick in the second half.
Matawan advances to play at No. 6 Jackson Liberty in the sectional quarterfinals.
(6) Jackson Liberty 6, (11) Freehold Boro 1
Senior Jim Cappucci assisted the go-ahead goal by sophomore Giovanni Batista in the 30th minute, then posted a goal and an assist during a four-goal second half that send the Lions (11-4-2) to a first-round win over the Colonials (7-13).
Senior Conor Yurgel scored two of Jackson Liberty's goals in the second half and also assisted a goal by sophomore Rich Kosek that stretched the Lions lead to 3-1 in the 58th minute.
Senior Nick Malangone opened the scoring with a penalty kick that put Jackson Liberty up in the 18th minute. Freehold Boro answered with a goal by senior Thomas Hughes off a corner kick by junior Ammar Danish.
(4) Neptune 8, (13) Ewing 5
Seniors Ernst Louisius and Jack Tinik each put up a hat trick and the Scarlet Fliers (12-4-1) rolled to a high-scoring win over the Blue Devils to secure a spot in Monday's sectional quarterfinal round.
Louisius also added an assist and Julian Lemus and Lensky Raul accounted for the other two Neptune goals.
(9) Ocean 3, (8) Middletown South 2 (OT)
Making his first career start, senior Stavros Fay scored two goals, including the golden goal 1:08 into overtime that sent the Spartans (8-7-1) over the Eagles (7-8-1) and into the sectional quarterfinals Monday at top-seeded Robbinsville.
On each goal, the ball struck a Middletown South player before taking a kind bounce in the direction of Fay. The first one was a low shot to the far left corner of the goal to give Ocean a 2-1 lead in the 36th minute.
Middletown South pulled even with a goal by junior Shawn McCann in the 67th.
In the first minute of overtime, Ocean won a free kick and junior Justin Cook sent a booming kick into the box from 45 yards out. The ball made it back out to Fay and the senior ripped a shot to the far upper corner of the goal.
Ocean jumped on top with a goal by senior Jacob Schwartz off a throw-in by senior Dan Abrams. Middletown South's first equalizer came in the 17th minute on a shot by junior Alex Soto that struck the left post and caromed into the goal.

Senior Pat Schlagenhaft scored five minutes into the match to get the Mustangs (2-8-6) off to a rousing start, but the Ravens settled in and earned advancement into the sectional quarterfinal round Monday against No. 9 Ocean.
(10) Allentown 2, (7) Middletown North 0
Middletown North conceded a penalty kick to Cade Maglione in the 16th minute and Sean Salas delivered a second Allentown goal in the first half as the Redbirds shutout the Lions (7-8-1) to advance to the sectional quarterfinals.
Central Jersey Group II
(8) Wall 2, (9) Spotswood 0
Senior James Damiano forced an own goal and a penalty kick in the final 10 minutes and the Crimson Knights (9-6-2) closed out a round-one win over the Chargers.
The own goal broke a scoreless tie in the 70th minute and Damiano drew a foul inside the 18-yard box in the 75th. Senior Matt Armenti stepped up a buried the penalty kick to put the game on ice.
(14) Monmouth 0, (3) Governor Livingston 0 -- Monmouth advances on penalties, 9-8
Senior goalkeeper Kyle Desai made a game-saving stop during the second overtime period, then saved three attempts during a 12-round shootout as the Falcons (7-9-2) outlasted the Highlanders to earn a trip to the sectional quarterfinals Monday at No. 6 Manasquan.
Senior Matteo Casalinuovo finally ended the game by converting on the second attempt of the 12th round after Desai came through with a save on Governor Livingston's attempt.
(6) Manasquan 4, (11) Delaware Valley 1
Senior Aidan Sugrue and freshman Cruz Farkas combined for all of Manasquan's four goals in the second half and the Warriors (12-5-1) erased a one-goal halftime deficit to shake off the Terriers and reach the sectional quarterfinals Monday against No. 14 Monmouth.
Sugrue tied the game, 1-1, three minutes into the second half with a sliding finish of a cross by junior Lukas Farcas. Cruz Farkas then ripped home Manasquan's second goal in the 50th to give his team a 2-1 lead off a flicked header by sophomore Griffin Linstra and Sugrue made it 3-1 off another head-ball assist from Linstra in the 62nd.
Cruz Farkas added his second goal in the 68th off a throw-in by senior Mike Flanagan.
(7) Rumson-Fair Haven 2, (10) Metuchen 1 (OT)
Sophomore Ronan Hogg slammed in a cross from senior Alec Pentikis two minutes into overtime and the defending sectional champions edged the visiting Bulldogs to set up a rematch of last year's Central Jersey Group II final in Monday's sectional quarterfinal -- with Rumson (11-3-2) travelling to play No. 2 Holmdel.
Pentikis created the winner by pushing the ball toward the right flag, holding it as a series of runs developed and shooting his cross into the box. Senior Jacob Brown made a sliding attempt at the ball that served as a dummy and Hogg cleaned up with the point-blank finish.
Senior Antonio Santos gave Rumson a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute with a left-footed strike from 20 yards out.
Metuchen evened the score on a rebound finish by Jack Cunningham after Rumson junior Cole Herman saved the initial shot on the breakaway.
(2) Holmdel 5, (15) Raritan 0
Sophomore Stephan Kapranov scored two goals and the Hornets (15-2-1) cruised to a first-round win over the Rockets (6-9-1) to set up a sectional-quarterfinal showdown with No. 7 Rumson-Fair Haven -- a rematch of last year's Central Group II sectional final, won by Rumson in overtime.
Senior Colin Hynes and juniors David Weiner and Luke Brand each added a goal for Holmdel.
(4) Point Boro 2, (13) Hillside 0
Senior Brett Leschinski scored with under two minutes to go in the first half off a service from senior Jared Elliott and the Panthers (11-2-3) and junior goalkeeper Andrew Holper blanked the Comets to advance to the sectional quarterfinals Monday against No. 5 South River.
Junior John Witkowski added the clinching goal in the 73rd minute off a pass from senior Alex Baginski.
Central Jersey Group I
(12) Point Beach 1, (5) Highland Park 0
Junior Chris Madden ran down a pass from classmate Ronan Lynch in the 50th minute and tucked it into the goal for the game's lone score as the Garnet Gulls (7-9) knocked off the Owls to advance to Monday's sectional quarterfinal round at No. 4 New Egypt.
(8) Shore 6, (9) Somerset Tech 0
Senior Connor Katz and sophomore Stephen Molnar each scored a goal and assisted two during a five-goal outburst for Shore during the first half, which sparked the Blue Devils (6-9-2) to a win over Somerset Tech.
Junior Tyler Jackson also contributed a goal and an assist during the first half while senior Nick DiNapoli and freshman Cooper Attaway also scored before intermission as Shore built a 5-0 advantage by the 33rd minute.
Junior Sean Newbert scored off a pass from sophomore Grant Hess to cap the scoring in the 63rd minute.

Sophomore Nick Prosperi scored a goal in each half and assisted the fifth Southern goal as the Rams (9-5) rolled to a win over Gloucester Tech to cement their spot in the sectional quarterfinals Monday against top-seeded Rancocas Valley.
Senior Mathieu Leonard got Southern on the board with a goal in the 30th minute and Prosperi followed shortly thereafter with a goal in the 33rd.
Sophomore Jefferson Rubi Cruz struck for Southern's third goal off a pass from classmate Aidan Donnelly in the 45th an Prosperi added his second goal in the 70th.
Senior Aidan Antonio capped the scoring with a goal in the 76th.
(6) Toms River North 2, (11) Toms River East 1
Senior Jake Bennert scored the game-winner in the 54th minute and the Mariners (10-3-1) won a rubber match against the rival Raiders (8-5-3) to advance into the sectional quarterfinals Monday against No. 3 Washington Township.
Sophomore Christian Caso opened the scoring to give Toms River North a 1-0 before Toms River East senior Kajus Matazinskas converted a penalty kick later in the first half to tie the score, 1-1.
The first two matches played between Toms River North and Toms River East required overtime, with North winning the regular-season meeting, 1-0, and the Raiders exacting revenge in the first round of the Shore Conference Tournament, 3-2.

Junior Connor Noon finished off a through-ball from classmate Owen Graham in the 62nd minute and the Lions (7-9-2) upended the Indians (9-6) to advance to the sectional semifinals Monday against No. 3 Cherry Hill West.
Senior goalkeeper Ryan Fitzgerald came through with 16 saves to earn the shutout, including the 300th save of his career.
