Is This New Jersey’s Absolutely Best Hiking Trail?
If you love the great outdoors and there's nothing you like more than a really good hiking trail, then you are definitely in the right state. New Jersey has gorgeous trails all over the place. And now a local publication has zeroed in on the best hiking trail in New Jersey. Let's see if you agree.
We start by showing some love to some of the great local trails in our area, even though the trail Love Exploring chose as the state's best is not in Monmouth or Ocean Counties, which is kind of disappointing.
Some of the Monmouth County Trails you told us are really good include Thompson Park in Lincroft and Holmdel Park in Holmdel, as well as the Manasquan Reservoir in Howell and Turkey Swamp Park in Freehold. You can get details about all of these and more at the Visit Monmouth website.
And we hear from Ocean County hikers that you guys love to do your hiking is Double Trouble State Park and Turkey Swamp Park. So there is clearly no shortage of great hiking options here in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. So, where is the "best"?
Well, Love Exploring chose a trail for each state, and their choice for New Jersey is the Stairway To Heaven in Vernon Valley. it has to be worth the trip just for that name, right? The trail features a boardwalk at the beginning and a 1-mile suspension bridge. Wow, that sounds amazing!
But of course, we love to celebrate things close to home, so enjoy our great hiking trails.
