The first Thanksgiving was nearly 400 years ago in Massachusetts, but could you imaging if the first one was in New Jersey?

We combined that thought with the things we know so well about the Garden State and came up with a list of things that would have been a the first Thanksgiving if it was in New Jersey. Hopefully you'll get a chuckle out of it.

Here are some things that might have been at the first Thanksgiving had it been in New Jersey.

Lasagna. There's no doubt a New Jersey Thanksgiving would have to include lasagna. And it would be served before the turkey. Don't ask me how they got the ricotta or mozzarella.Maybe Aunt Mary called Joe Leone.

Coffee. You can't have people over without coffee. And knowing us, it would have been pumpkin spice latte.

Pie. Historians say there was no pie at the first Thanksgiving. That would have never happened in New Jersey. We are the home of Delicious Orchards.

Late Dinner. Even though we're sure the scheduled time for Thanksgiving dinner was about 2:00pm, Uncle Eddie and Aunt Tessie always get caught in the Parkway traffic at the Driscoll Bridge, so we have to keep that lasagna on 'keep warm'.

Wine. Do I need to say more. Jersey=wine. Don't even get us started, right? The first settlers might have needed it even more than 2020 us does.

There is nothing like a New Jersey Thanksgiving, and even though this one is certainly not the way you'd love it to be, we still want you to have a great day. And, hang in there. We'll get through this together.
