When on scene, officers saw four vehicles in the roadway partially obstructing both directions. After the initial investigation, it was revealed that a 2013 Chevrolet E250 cargo van, operated by 30 year old Michael Hudak was travelling west on Ridgeway Road when it struck the rear of a 2016 Toyota Highlander.

The highlander, driven by 27 year old Ashley Haszko, was stopped at a red light and pushed into a 2013 Hyundai Elantra operated by 46 year old Monique Marra.

After hitting the Highlander, the Chevy van skidded out of control and struck a 2005 Cadillac SRX, driven by 32 year old Latoya Nicholson who was stopped in the the left turn lane.

Haszko reported head pain while Marra reported head and neck pain. Both were taken in ambulance to Community Medical Center in Toms River.

Early indications are that Hudak fell asleep while operating the Chevy van. He was also not seat belted at the time.

The crash is under investigation by Ptl. Anderson of the Manchester Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit.
