Amazing, The Cost of Fireworks in New Jersey Isn’t Quite What You’d Expect
Fireworks and the Jersey Shore go together like Pork Roll, egg and cheese.
Love them or hate them, fireworks are a core form of entertainment along the Seaside Heights boardwalk all summer long.
Every Wednesday during the summer the skies light up with a fantastic display that launches off right from the beach.
In addition, Fourth of July weekend at the Jersey Shore provides some amazing displays.
What's really cool is watching fireworks from the bay and seeing the displays from all over Ocean County happening at the same time.
So count me surprised when I saw a report that listed the top states that spend money on fireworks, and New Jersey was not where I though we'd be on that list.
According to Stacker.com states have almost doubled their 'per person spending' of fireworks.
What States Spent the Most on Fireworks per person?
The Midwest spends the most money on fireworks per person with South Dakota spending about $10.87 per person and Missouri spending an astonishing $13.36 per person on fireworks.
It makes sense that middle American spends more per resident though, less people live there.
How Much Does New Jersey Spend on Fireworks Per Person?
Once everything was broken down, New Jersey, despite having fireworks all the time in the summer didn't even hit the top ten.
New Jersey spends about seven cents per person on fireworks.
Seven cents.
With the amount of displays we have throughout the summer I really thought it would have been more.
But since New Jersey is a very populated state when compared to places like Missouri, South Dakota, and Nevada, it makes sense that we can spend less and still get the amazing fireworks displays we get each year.
