If you live, work, commute, or enjoy a nice drive through Neptune Township and Bradley Beach, you should expect some delays on and off for the next couple of months.

New Jersey American Water announced on Wednesday that two of their contracting crews, Perna Finnigan, Inc., and Montana Construction, Inc., have begun work on replacing about 1,980 feet of aging water main in Neptune Township and installing 1,000 feet of new water main in Bradley Beach.

As part of the water main projects, two fire hydrants and 20 utility-owned service lines will be replaced as well, and there will be six new service lines put in along the pipeline route.

NJAW said that you can expect work to be done as crews put new six and eight-inch ductile iron main down along Carton Avenue from Overlook Drive to Westwood Place and Greenwood Place from Westwood Avenue to North Riverside Drive in Neptune Township, and then Beach Avenue from Newark Avenue to McCabe Avenue in Bradley Beach.

It's all part of a $1.27 million investment project.

There is work indeed underway and NJAW said that they expect everything to be done in about a month or two.

The crews will be out there from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm between Monday and Friday.

NJAW also said that final street restorations will be completed in late summer or early fall.
