Ex-Wall schools chief sentenced
Former Wall Township Schools Superintendent James Habel is given a five-year sentence on a charge of official misconduct.
Information in the Asbury Park Press reveals that Habel's sentence includes no opportunity for early parole consideration, forfeiture of his pension benefits and a lifetime ban from public office.
Habel, now a Florida resident, was convicted at trial in March in a case that stemmed from unreported vacation days. The jury also found him guilty of falsifying records.
