Cheryl Bradshaw, 60, pleaded guilty to a third-degree count of theft by failure to make required disposition of property received, according to the office of Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyler. Her job was terminated on February 2 of this year, and she was arrested on April 19.

The plea agreement drops a second-degree charge of official misconduct., and stipulates restitution for victims and permanent forfeiture of public-sector employment in New Jersey.

Investigators alleged that Bradshaw cashed 13 checks, totaling $826, issued to nine tenants of the Barlinvis Apartments by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, to offset utility costs.

They also accused Bradshaw of taking a $9.39 toilet seatfrom the Atlantic County Improvement Authority, and had it installed in her house.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
