Delaware Wants To Combine With New Jersey To Become One State & I Am Just Like “Um, No?”
First: I wasn't aware that @NJGov and us folks in New Jersey needed a fresh start. (I mean...maybe after 2020 we ALL do but that is besides the point)
Second: Jug handles? Banned? This is something that I can actually get on board with.
Third: Full coastline being called "the beach" does also sit okay with me. When locals hear "down the shore," they cringe because that means visitors are in town.
But no...Delaware, we don't want to merge with you.
Their plan is for New Jersey + Delaware would become New Delaware and I'm sorry but that sounds like a stupid state.
Now I started wondering...what on earth is Delaware even known for anyway? So I googled it and here is what I found:
"Delaware is known by this nickname due to the fact that on December 7, 1787, it became the first of the 13 original states to ratify the U.S. Constitution. “The First State” became the official State nickname on May 23, 2002."
"New Jersey is known for many things including its beautiful beaches, busy roads, great food, intense politics, and diverse culture. People born and raised in this prolific state have a lot to be proud of - unique people, gorgeous scenery and exciting sports are just a few of our common attribute."
