A bucket list is a pretty sacred place. It's reserved for the best of the best. And when it comes to restaurants, the best of New Jersey's best is apparently right here in Monmouth County. Red Bank to be exact.

The national website that chose a bucket list restaurant in each state of the country is the well known and respected Cheapism. And don't let the name fool you. The site has chosen the best of the best of the finest restaurants in the nation, and their New Jersey target was right in the heart of Red Bank.

This high honor, released just this week belongs to a Red Bank restaurant located right on Route 35 in Red Bank, and it is none other than Nicholas Barrel & Roost, and that is certainly one excellent choice.

We all know chef Nicholas and his wife Melissa from Restaurant Nicholas, the amazing and frequently awarded Red Bank restaurant, which was Zagat's highest-rated in New Jersey for a decade and a half.

Now imagine amazing food, made from scratch, in a newly designed modern farmhouse interior, serving up everything from Bourbon Braised Suckling Pig, to specialty pizza, to the famous Nicholas Burger, made with a sirloin short rib blend.

That sounds like nothing short of bucket list food if I've ever heard of it. And they have a great lunch and brunch menu as well.

You can see why Nicholas Barrel & Roost is not only the pride of Red Bank, but, according to some experts, the bucket list restaurant for the whole state. Try it soon!
