Car flips in Manchester crash, both drivers hospitalized
A Tuesday two-car crash on Route 539 in Manchester, with enough force to flip one over, leaves both drivers nursing injuries.
Township police were called at about 4:44 PM to the entrance of Cousins Paintball Park, finding a Ford Focus on its roof and a Cadillac ATS with "significant" front-end damage on the roadside.
Investigating officers determined that the Manchester 17-year-old in the Ford was turning left, across the oncoming lane, to enter the park, when it was hit by the Cadillac.
Police did not conjecture regarding road and visibility conditions, approximate speeds, or possible indications of impaired or distracted driving on either driver's part.
Beverly Kiefer, 47, driving the Cadillac, and the teen wore seat restraints, police said. The teen sustained leg injuries and Kiefer developed pain in the lower extremities.
Both were treated at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Patrolman Brian Collinis is conducting follow-up investigaitons.
Also responding were members of the Whiting Volunteer Fire Company and Quality Medical Transport EMTs.
