New Jersey is the 5th leanest state in the United States — or the 45th fattest, according to WalletHub analyst Jill Gonzalez. She says The Garden State has low rates of diabetes, cholesterol, obesity and heart disease.
And that's no thanks to New Jersey's top comfort food. Can you guess what it is? Take our quiz below to see what WalletHub listed as each state's top comfort food.

Becasue New Jersey is so densely populated, there tends to be good food options in terms of fresh produce no matter where you are, says Gonzalez. Also, there are lots of fitness centers per capita.
Gonzalez says New Jersey's obesity and overweight prevalence rank was very low, 37th overall, particularly when it comes to children and teenagers.
"A lot of adults are eating more than one serving of fruits or veggies per day, not a lot of sugar-sweetened beverage consumption, especially among adolescents," says Gonzalez.
The top three fattest states are Mississippi, West Virginia and Tennessee. On the opposite end, the three leanest states are Colorado, Massachusetts and Utah.
